About Delhi

Delhi is the Capital of India since 1911. It is one among the seven Union Territories. It has a deep historical background. This city has been ruled by various powerful rulers like Mughals in succession to Khiljis and Tughlaqs. The history of the city is as old as the epic Mahabharata. The town was known as Indraprastha, where Pandavas used to live. In due course eight more cities came alive adjacent to Indraprastha: Lal Kot, Siri, Dinpanah, Quila Rai Pithora, Ferozabad, Jahanpanah, Tughlakabad and Shahjahanabad.


The common language of Delhi is Hindi but English is widely spoken in official circles.

Time Zone

The latitude and the longitude of New Delhi are 28°40′N and 77°14 respectively. India has only one time zone i.e. Indian Standard Time (IST) which is 5 hours and 30 minutes ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).


Delhi has various historical places to visit and the best time to visit there is from October to March. During this period, the weather generally remains pleasant with minimum 20 degree temperature to maximum 32 degree temperature.
During the time of ICN workshop at New Delhi in March, 2018, the weather would be slightly warm in the morning but pleasant during evening (after 7:00 PM) to enjoy and experience the Incredible Delhi.


Rupee is the currency of India. The currency code is INR and the currency symbol is ₹. It comes in following denominations i.e. ₹ 10, ₹ 20, ₹ 50, ₹ 100, ₹ 200, ₹ 500, and ₹ 2000.
